Encryption & Security
E2E Encrypted DMs
Direct messages are encrypted end-to-end — the server stores zero plaintext. Voice and server channels use transport encryption (QUIC/TLS).
Your DM Keys Stay Private
DM encryption keys are generated on your device and never leave it. Only you and the person you're messaging can decrypt your DMs.
Password Protection
Your password is never stored in readable form. We use industry-leading hashing that's resistant to brute-force and hardware attacks.
Encrypted Transport
QUIC provides built-in TLS for voice traffic. gRPC connections support TLS with self-signed, custom, or Step CA certificates.
Spam Protection
Built-in rate limiting automatically prevents spam, abuse, and brute-force attacks across the entire platform.
Ban Evasion Prevention
When someone gets banned, they stay banned. Security measures prevent banned users from sneaking back into servers.
Moderation Tools
Server owners and moderators have the tools they need to keep their communities safe.
Granular permissions let you control exactly who can send messages, manage channels, kick members, ban users, and more — all enforced securely.
Roles are hierarchical — a moderator can't kick or ban someone with a higher role. This keeps your server's power structure secure and predictable.
Remove disruptive members instantly. Bans include reasons and are tracked in a ban list. Muted users cannot speak in voice channels.
All permissions are enforced on our servers, not on the user's device. Modified or hacked clients can't bypass moderation or access restricted features.
